Product Landscapes - Category overviews written by top founders

We're launching a new set of product category pages, which combine our Shoutouts data (which products are loved by the top builders) and Product Landscape articles written by top founders who are experts in their fields.

It's very well crafted, I like it. Lots of info at hands, and the landscape overviews can become really useful also when one has to choose the right category for their product, at launch settings. I have a couple of questions: - How is the products ranking calculated? I see products with a higher review score ranking below products with a lower one; same for shoutouts number. - How are you going to secure freshness of landscape overviews? Technology runs fast, and today's overview might be obsolete tomorrow. It would be nice if overviews were attached to a discussions thread were the community can contribute. Great job!

Hey Rajiv, How do you ensure the content remains objective, given that the authors may have competing products in the space? Congrats on the launch!

@kyrylosilin good question. we opted to have builders in the category write the articles because, though they may have a horse in the race, the information provided will be much more helpful to other builders.

?makers compelling! But how will you keep these write-ups up to date? What do you estimate is the half-life of these pieces?

Hey @rajiv_ayyangar @rajiv_ayyangar1 It’s a clever strategy, but there might be some challenges. How do you ensure the content stays objective?

Wow, this Shoutouts feature looks pretty slick! It's like a digital high-five for the tech world. I love how it's giving credit where credit is due and showing the interconnectedness of the startup ecosystem. That being said, I've got a few thoughts on how to make it even better: 1. How about a "Shoutout Hall of Fame" for products that consistently get the most love? It could be like the cool kids' table of the tech world. 2. Maybe add a feature where users can upvote shoutouts they agree with? It could help surface the most impactful tools. 3. What if there was a way to filter launches by the tools they used? Could be super helpful for folks looking to build similar products. 4. A little birdie told me some other platforms have tried similar features, but they often end up feeling like a popularity contest. How about adding a brief explanation requirement for each shoutout to keep it genuine? 5. Lastly, and I'm just spitballing here, but what if there was a "Shoutout Challenge" where users have to guess which tools were used in a launch? Could be a fun way to engage the community and learn about new tools. Keep up the great work, Product Hunt team! You're making the tech world a friendlier place, one shoutout at a time. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go shout out to my coffee maker for making this comment possible.
