Google is still actively involved in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and is considered a leader in the industry. They have a number of research projects and products related to AI, including Google AI, which is focused on advancing the state of the art in machine learning and AI. ChatGPT is a specific language model developed by OpenAI, and it is not in competition with Google or other companies in the field. Instead, it is a tool that can be used to develop new AI-based applications and services.

Google is still a major player in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). They have a large team of researchers and engineers working on various AI projects, such as natural language processing, computer vision, and machine learning. However, it's important to note that AI is a rapidly evolving field, and there are many other companies and organizations also making significant contributions. Additionally, GPT-3, the model behind ChatGPT, is a specific type of AI model called a language model and it's not intended to compete with other AI models or companies, rather it's designed to assist in natural language generation tasks.

We're way too early to tell if OpenAI/Microsoft are going to topple Google with ChatGPT or GPT-3. Google hasn't counter attacked yet. They arguably have: - more and better data through their search engine + Google Analytics + Maps etc - war chest to afford expensive AI training - hardware (TPUs) to train the AI - talent to build AI models that can rival OpenAI's. Remember that the "Transformer" architecture that powers most generative AI technology (it's the "T" in GPT) was developed at Google I'm curious to see what Google's response will be. Also curious to see whether Facebook joins the fray, even though they seem to be hellbent on "Metaverse".

ChatGPT has already won, they are on top and it is said they will implement a way bigger AI software capacity soon.

I think the way Google works, they probably already have something that's equally good (if not better). But, instead of giving everyone a playground to interact with it directly, they will just use it *subtly* to make their existing products 10x better.

I bet that google has the edge here; OpenAI can be more experimental and push a product that confidently says the Motzart was a french cheese. Google seems to take facts more seriously, and when they release their version, It'll take over chatGPT. No matter who wins, this race is fascinating.

How do you use AI?

I think it's not really a matter of "winning" or "losing" - both Google and ChatGPT are important players in the AI field and will continue to push the boundaries of what's possible. But what's important is that the competition makes each of them improve and develop new AI technologies.

I remember that crazy story about a sentient AI inside Google servers!

The race for AI superiority is not a straightforward competition, and both Google and ChatGPT have their own unique strengths and weaknesses. It's not about winning or losing, but about continuing to make progress and advance the field as a whole.
