How can our money be protected? AI is pretty smart at replicating face and voice

Just when I saw the launch @Hume AI how AI can reliably replicate a voice, it gives me chills.

I wrote it under that launch, too, and I'll replicate it now as well:

I really don’t know how banks plan to protect their clients now. AI has advanced to the point where it can replicate biometrics, like faces and voices. Practically, the only aspect that’s harder to replicate is touch – fingerprints – but even that isn’t completely secure. Money isn’t safe in these institutions.

The thing is:

How can we protect our money in institutions that authenticate users/owners by biometrics that are easily replicable with AI? Is there any technology or solution?

I do not wanna be that person who once opens the account with €0 just because someone was good enough to cheat the system with AI :D

Recently was a hunter for https://www.producthunt.com/post... , which solves exactly the opposite question – how to detect a deepfake

https://www.producthunt.com/post...  @je_suis_yaroslav I remember them. Have they tried to partner with bank institutions?

@busmark_w_nika I’m not a team member so I didn’t dive so deep at this level)

@je_suis_yaroslav aaa, gotcha!

Banks are already moving beyond just biometrics – multi-factor auth, behavioral patterns, device recognition and of course geotaggging.
But honestly, the real game changer might be requiring physical presence for big transactions or having human verification calls with personal questions only you'd know.

@sanskarix What if they come up with super-powerful computers that can "break" the system and get through 2FA etc.?

@busmark_w_nika Firstly - the day this happens, the banking sector and we will go back to the old days - walk in the bank to get the important tasks done :D

Nika

@sanskarix maybe we will go back to barter :D

You’re right that AI will be able to do that. But I think it’s okay because banks will need to adapt to this, and they might come up with a new authentication method besides biometrics or something similar. It’s hard to imagine what exactly, but I hope they will

@ixord Maybe hiding money in our pillows will be safer :D
