Cowork - Turn Claude into your digital coworker
by•
Cowork turns Claude into a real coworker. Give it access to a folder on your computer and assign tasks instead of chatting. Claude can read, edit, and create files, plan its work, and execute tasks end-to-end while keeping you in control. Less back-and-forth, more work done.

@byalexai I think that I am totally free of any work here when this tool is on the scene :D
@busmark_w_nika now you can focus on writing the newsletter! Claude will edit the list of 50 videos. xD

@byalexai 😂 I am not so sure whether the tools is prepared to manage that mess in my documents and content.
@byalexai Gosh, potentially, it will kill so many existing micro-apps. Planning to try this out to sort my 15 GB of Photos
@davidkaufmann yeah, it's doing great job!

Genius name.
@Granola better watch out!
@chrismessina Yes, an incredible hit by Claude.

I pay for Claude. It appears that I need Max to even try it. $100/month is steep; hope you soon offer it to those on Pro.

@osakasaul This is a Research Preview. The Research Preview is only available to Max users... it will come to Pro.

Definitely a game changer
Curious to see how teams adopt this in real workflows.
Especially around ownership, context sharing, and decision-making.

This feels like a meaningful shift from “AI as a chat window” to “AI as an operator.”
Giving an agent scoped file access and letting it execute end-to-end tasks removes a lot of coordination overhead. Curious how you’re thinking about safeguards and review checkpoints as tasks get more complex.

@musa_molla Assuming it's like Claude Code, it's pretty good about asking you how you want to continue - there's planning mode, which puts together a plan for your approval, but even then it also checks at each stage before it makes any changes, or does anything that might be out of bounds.

This looks interesting. I actually use Claude Project a lot, but this looks like it's taking it on the next level.
Congrats on your launch!! It's truly a dream come true ahahah
Does Cowork support integration with external services beyond the current connectors (e.g., custom APIs, cloud storage like Google Drive/Dropbox, or client-specific databases)?
Full disclosure — I'm a big fan of Anthropic and actually built an app that works exclusively with Claude Desktop for secure local file search. So I've spent a lot of time thinking about this space.
My concern with Cowork isn't the vision, it's the architecture. Agentic tasks burn through tokens fast (Anthropic says so themselves), so that $200/month cap can disappear quicker than you'd expect. And at that price, you'd want to use it for real work — but the whole thing requires giving Claude direct read/write/delete access to your files. If you're handling client data, patient records, or anything regulated, you're basically out.
The bigger issue is prompt injection. Anthropic admits "the chances of an attack are still non-zero" — and back in October 2025, researchers showed exactly that: a prompt injection against Claude that pulled up to 30MB of user data per request through Anthropic's own API. When you're talking about an agent with file system access, email connectors, and a browser, that's not some theoretical edge case.
There's a reason some of us build tools where Claude can search your files without actually touching them. The agentic future is definitely coming, but "AI that can access everything" and "AI that keeps you in control" are two very different products for two very different users.
Been using this for organizing project folders and it's genuinely changed my workflow. Pointed it at a messy folder and watched it sort through screenshots and PDFs and other junk I just didn't want to deal with.
One thing I've noticed: occasionally it gets stuck on ExitingPlan. Clicking stop exits the plan, then just type "continue" and it picks back up. Minor friction but easy workaround.
