The Solution: Vidcard plays your video pitch instantly—grabbing 100% of attention. Hi Hunters! 👋 Parsifal here. The idea for Vidcard hit me while revisiting the campaign of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. There is that iconic scene where you get handed a card inviting you to join the Atlas Corporation. It wasn't just paper. It was a flex. My friend and I thought: "Why is networking in real life so boring? Why do we still use dead paper?" So, we engineered Vidcard. It’s not just about looking cool; it’s about Attention and Data. 💡 I built this for two specific scenarios. Do these resonate with you? Scenario 1: The Business Context Imagine you are in a high-stakes business setting. You have very little time to introduce yourself, but you really want to connect with someone. You need to leave a deep impression fast. The Solution: You simply hand over the Vidcard. It doesn't waste their time. Crucially: It avoids the awkwardness of asking "Can I add your socials?" or fumbling with phones. In that split second, your entire intro is delivered via the video. They will be interested because of the novelty. Afterwards: You can check the backend. Did they view your company intro? Your product demo? This data tells you if you should follow up ("Attack") or let it go. Scenario 2: The Social Context You are at a gathering and want to show your most confident, proudest self. You condense your best sides—your hobbies, your skills, your vibes—into the Vidcard and your profile page. It helps you get attention and sparks discussion immediately. The "Attack" Strategy: Afterward, you check the data. Did that specific person you wanted to know actually check your page? Did they look at your hobbies? If yes, you can confidently reach out and build a deeper relationship. 🛠️ The Tech: We managed to fit the HD screen, battery, and NFC into a chassis that is approx. >5mm (we are working hard to make it even thinner!). You have total freedom to upload any video you edit. We are releasing an early batch 🚀 dedicated to those who want to master the art of the perfect first impression. If you are ready to stop being ignored and start truly showcasing the best version of yourself, we’d love your feedback and support. ❤️ Any suggestions you have would be incredibly helpful to us. Please feel free to discuss with us at any time!

@vidcard each card is $99? Am I supposed to leave the card with the client or just show it to them and ask for it back? 🤔

@chrismessina
Great question! Personally, both scenarios happen for me.

When I’m talking to clients who aren’t necessarily priority connections or have lower immediate interest, I might just hand over my business card to break the ice and introduce myself quickly.

But when I really want to build a meaningful connection, it’s more than just a card—it feels like an opportunity. I prefer giving it directly, because this card is actually quite eye-catching and reusable. I make sure whoever receives it will use it again, and before that happens, they’re bound to revisit our information.

That’s how I see it. What do you think?

Chris Messina

@vidcard when you say "I make sure whoever receives it will use it again", do you mean they'll wipe your details from the card and use it as their own business card?

Having just helped the BizCard team launch, I do see the value of disrupting the business card format... I just wonder if the economics of your solution make sense, unless you're only giving out your card sparingly — like once a month.

Maybe put another way: how many Vidcards do you expect people to buy and give out monthly, compared with paper cards? And how long does it take to set each one up? If I want to batch change my cards, what's that process look like?

@chrismessina
Hello Mr. Chris Messina, regarding your questions, here is my thinking on this, and I would sincerely love to hear your opinion.

To be honest, I don't think we should view Vidcard through the lens of traditional business cards. I believe they exist in two completely different dimensions.

As a founder, I break down the "Business Card" into its only two real purposes:
To be Remembered and To be Contacted.
Paper cards often end up in the trash (Zero ROI), failing both purposes. Vidcard uses the screen to guarantee the impression and NFC to track the connection.

Just like we slogan“3S,Make the World Remember You”.

To answer your specific questions on usage and workflow:

1. On "How many to carry": It depends on how many "opportunities" I want to be ready for. Personally, I carry 3-4 units with me.

  • One is my primary device for the "Show & Return" scenario (breaking the ice).

  • The others are reserves. I only give them away when I identify a truly high-value opportunity where a lasting connection is critical.

2. On "Batching & Setup": We made this simple. You just connect via Bluetooth to upload your video directly.

  • If you are managing multiple devices (e.g., for a team), you can easily push the same video or different videos to each card wirelessly. It’s designed to be frictionless.

3. On Economics & Scale: Our manufacturing partner in China currently has a capacity of 50,000 units per week. This scale allows us to bring the cost down significantly compared to bespoke prototypes.

I'm betting that people are tired of "cheap waste" and are ready to invest in "effective connection."

Does this shift in perspective—from "distributing paper" to "managing impressions"—resonate with you?

Right now, our business cards are priced between 49 - 79. It really depends on whether you pre-ordered through our crowdfunding campaign page.

Congrats on the launch 👏 Love the concept, turning the “first impression” into measurable data is clever, and the HD video + NFC combo makes it feel like a modern upgrade over paper cards. One question from a growth / adoption perspective: have you thought about which context drives the most traction, high stakes business networking vs social / personal contexts? Right now, the page emphasizes both, but it’s not immediately obvious which scenario a first-time buyer should prioritize to see real value. Clarifying that could help reduce hesitation and increase conversions. Another note from my side, the site is a bit slow to load right now, so a first impression may take longer than intended. Curious what kind of users are responding the most so far.....founders, sales pros, or creatives?

Thanks so much for the kind words and feedback, Samuel! 🤝

Regarding the site speed: Thanks for the heads-up! To be honest, we are a team of hardware engineers, so web optimization is a bit of a learning curve for us 😅. But we are actively compressing assets right now to fix that load time.

To answer your great questions:

1. On Context (Business vs. Social): While Vidcard is designed for both, my personal bet is on Business Networking. This was my original pain point. I hated the "needle in a haystack" feeling of handing out paper cards. I wanted a tool that guarantees I am Remembered, Followed, and Contacted. I want that "possibility" to be secured by data, not left to chance.

2. On Reducing Hesitation (My Recommendation): My advice to a first-time buyer would be a "Two-Card Strategy":

  • Keep one as your permanent "Presentation Device" (Show & Return) for everyday meetings.

  • Keep a second one as a "Golden Ticket"—ready to be gifted when that life-changing opportunity (social or business) arises. I believe that investment will pay for itself in one interaction.

3. On User Traction: You guessed it right. Founders and Sales Pros are responding the most right now. They seem to feel the pain of "lost leads" the most acutely.

Thanks again for the detailed review, it helps a lot!

Bonjour,

@Vidcard The thought that the original idea came from a game is refreshing. It's proof that good products can come from anywhere. What I want to stress is that the website should communicate your value a lot clearer. At $99 per card, there's no room for writing that doesn't immediately convince people why they should care. I put together an audit on what could change, happy to share if you're interested.
