What do you think? …

Nazim @Koinju
How do you manage VAT ?
Marek
@nazim_m You can set the VAT rate per client and/or set it manually on each invoice.
Nazim @Koinju
@mareksmakosz Pretty cool, we have a loooot of different rates in europe so it's super important to manage it easely
Marek
@nazim_m I suppose it's still one rate per client? Does that work in your case? Just making sure :)
Nazim @Koinju
@mareksmakosz That's the possible issue. For example, in France, we can have to make an invoices with different rates per item for the same client. Most services have a 20% rate but if it is a cultural or artistic work such as the graphic production of a UI designer, the rate will be 10%. A web designer could have the case of making an invoice with a study and consulting part at 20% but the production at 10%... Fortunately koinju does not have this problem 😁
Marek
@nazim_m Oh, I see your point now! Great feedback! We'll add possibility of adjusting VAT per row to the next release!

Right tool for me at the right time, our team was dealing with invoice generation. And I think it fits in our workflow first reason being simple sweet tool, second being open source I can keep my customers data locked with us. And it's beautifully executed as well. Quick question can we change the design of the PDF?
Marek
@iamarnob6543 Happy to hear you and your team can use it! What would you like to change in the PDF design? We could add customizations to it.
Arnob Mukherjee
@mareksmakosz yea so we have some sort brand language / fonts / colors and things around design tokens, that we would like to match with our invoices as well. https://olvy.co/ 👈 that's the product I run. Nothing which is major or a blocker for someone to get started, simple invoices works fine. Just wanted to know if there is a work around in the code it self, if we can have custom design ✌️
Marek
@iamarnob6543 That's a very valid point, thanks! We'll add color palette customizations as well as custom fonts (probably Google Fonts). Also, Olvy seems to be a great tool for release notes management and customer feedback!
Arnob Mukherjee
@mareksmakosz Yea first things could be those for sure, and also thanks for checking out olvy, glad you like it 🙌🏻

Hi Hunters, I'm one of the co-makers of Serverless Invoices. Serverless Invoices is an experiment at easily modifiable, transparent software. There are two things that brought me and a lot of other makers to the Internet: The low entry barrier and the possibility to create and modify the web. For cars there is the Right to Repair act and we believe for software there should be the Right to Modify act. That's why we built Serverless invoices with the easiest web development tools that we know (vue.js, bootstrap), stripped the back-end and made it open-source. As builders we strive to create something that is useful and brings real value. Usually software requires user accounts, hosting, subscriptions etc. We wanted to create something that is extremely simple, but still packs powerful features. During a 12 hour hackathon we abstracted the full invoicing capability from our SaaS service and open-sourced it. As a result you have a full invoicing solution running on the power of your browser only. Check out the project on github: https://github.com/mokuappio/ser... We would love to hear your feedback! Thanks!
Stephen Clark
This looks really cool. Apologies for dumb questions, but to send to a client, would I have to download the PDF and email that? Or would it be possible to send it as a web link? Or would I need to put this on my host/server to do that (and how would I do that if that is needed)? And it would be super cool to have a simple integration with payment processors like Paypal, Stripe, maybe Venmo or Cash app to have them pay the invoice via one of those methods.
Henri Toivar
@sgclark Hey Stephen. You are correct, download the PDF and then send via email. In our SaaS application you can send it right from the application: https://mokuapp.io/ I can give you a free subscription for the beta period (just sign up and i'll activate your account). We have not officially launched this yet, so any feedback is greatly appreciated and will help us shape it. Adding a payment processor such as Stripe/Paypal/Vemo is a great idea! We'll look into that.
Charles Naut
Nice idea! I would love to see more of this type of software
Henri Toivar
@charles_naut Thanks! I totally agree. As browsers are becoming more powerful then i see that some applications could ditch servers and move to this kind of architecture.
Ban Abuse
Thank you for this really handy webapp without a server. The only thing I can complain about is that it is not possible to change the language of the invoice. This is unfortunate for non-English speakers. Anyway, thank you for this excellent and simple tool...
Marek
@ban_abuse Thank you for your feedback! Noted the point about multilingual support for our next release! :)
Nazim @Koinju
It looks really really great. we'll try to use it for our sales process on koinju.io
Marek
@nazim_m So glad to hear that! BTW Koinju is super cool!
