Relay.app has become a core part of how we run Product and Operations.

We use it to support a range of workflows, including research, hiring, project updates, competitor analysis, and delivery monitoring. The standout for us is how readable and intentional the workflows are. As automation becomes embedded into day-to-day operations, that clarity is what allows teams to trust, adopt, and evolve it over time.

From a product perspective, Relay strikes a rare balance. It’s quick to get started with, but structured enough to support real operating models as they scale. It doesn’t feel like you’re fighting the tool or reverse-engineering logic months later.

Jacob’s content and webinars also do a great job of clearly explaining both the space and the product, and that product thinking shows through in the experience. We’re actively expanding usage and expect to scale to around 20 agents by the end of March.

What needs improvement

This is for most AI tools currently. Supporting logged-in, in-browser interactions would be a big win. Some tools don’t expose everything via APIs, and being able to securely work within those environments directly would unlock additional use cases.

We chose Relay.app for its clarity and ease of ongoing ownership. Compared to alternatives, it’s quicker to get started with and far easier to understand, trust, and maintain as workflows scale.

How easy is migrating from Zapier or Make?

We’ve used both Zapier and Make. They’re powerful, but Relay stands out on clarity and ease of ongoing ownership. It feels designed to help teams build and maintain workflows collaboratively, not just stitch together automations that become brittle over time.

I've used Relay from the early days and got to say it's an absolutely beautiful product for recurring processes like: - onboarding new people - sharing all-hands slides - ensuring smooth sales to CS handoffs Also, Jacob and the team are extremely responsive. Highly recommend!

Congrats to the whole Relay team! It's amazing the depth of integrations you guys already have and the amount of customization you can make to each workflow. Definitely way better than Zapier for complex B2B workflows but without needing to write and maintain custom code!

Congrats @jebank on the launch. I have enjoyed using relay.app for the past few months, and working with the incredible team. As a startup founder, I love that I can use Relay as soon as I have the beginnings of a process that is repetitive, even if it's not fully formed. The human-in-the-loop functionality means I can build playbooks as I go, giving me the flexibility I need for constant improvement, and the ability to automate early. I also really appreciate the response time to bugs and feature requests, and I cant wait to integrate relay.app into more parts of my company workflows.

They main ways Relay goes beyond the traditional trigger-action tools are: (1) The ability to add human-in-the-loop controls (like [automation] approvals or data inputs) as part of otherwise fully automated workflows (2) Multiplayer, as you pointed out. Collaboratively edit workflows with team members, allowing you to "assign" automations to specific people based on a Role. For example, in an automated customer onboarding workflow, you probably want to send a personalized welcome email from the Gmail/Outlook account of the specific CSM that's assigned to this customer (3) One-click AI assistance – whilst other tools let you add an "OpenAI" automation that uses your own credentials to send a prompt, Relay offers AI assistance built-in for common actions like data extraction, summarization or input classification. And of course we also have an OpenAI automation to go crazy with your own prompts. Let me know if you're interested using Relay to automate playbooks at OpenRep!
