Hey ProductHunt community ๐Ÿ‘‹ We're Rob and Mostafa. Two friends that talk about the future together. Indiedex is the first product we've ever launched! ๐Ÿ˜… It's an automatically-curated list of indie hackers, marketers, designers, and solopreneurs. The idea for Indiedex came about when we got started building our first project, about 6 months ago. Soon enough it became clear that the only way we were going to find other like-minds to share the journey with through X was to scroll, and scroll, and scroll... We were at the mercy of the algorithm. Sure, there are ways around it. But they're not great. Lists need maintaining, and get out-dated. Everything else is opt-in, or you need to pay. But we thought, what if there was a way to automate a curated list of all indie hackers, product designers, and marketers on X and beyond? That's where Indiedex comes in. With Indiedex, you can browse by category and pick your preferences using our powerful filters to find others to connect with. If you're looking to list yourself on Indiedex, you can claim a profile for yourself too! These profiles will come in handy for the following updates to come, where you will be able to use them to share the growth of all your startups, and your progress on platforms like X and LinkedIn. We see Indiedex growing to be the go-to place for indie hackers and solopreneurs alike to find each other and connect. After all, we're stronger together. If any of this resonates with you, or you find joy in meeting new people, I hope you have an absolute blast with Indiedex and are as pumped as we are for what's to come! Thank you ๐Ÿ™

@robhallam Big congrats on launching IndieDex! Really digging the idea and how easy it is to find and connect with the right folks in our niches. The filter-by-niche feature is a standout โ€“ it's going to make networking so much more relevant and fruitful. Excited to see where this goes!
Rob Hallam
@abdalyousef Thank you Abdal, I'm really glad to hear you like the idea and are enjoying the platform ๐Ÿ˜Š If you have any feature ideas, I'd absolutely love to hear them. We're looking to grow Indiedex expontentially over the coming days and weeks!
Germรกn Merlo

This is such a great model for connecting with other makers. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป An annual โ€œIndie In Personโ€ meetup would be fun to attend. Online workshops for indies would be great as well. Just some extra ideas ๐Ÿ“ˆ ๐ŸŒŸ
Rob Hallam
@derkolstad Absolutely love these ideas Derek. I especially also thought about indie hacker in-person meetups being really cool. Glad you think so too! Taking notes โœ๏ธ Thanks for the support ๐Ÿ™

I love anything that'll get me off the mercy of a major algorithm. This looks amazing, giving it a shot right now!
Rob Hallam
@bradydowling Haha, exactly the feeling I had when I came up with the idea for Indiedex! Let me know what you think of Indiedex when you get the chance, Brady. Thanks for the support ๐Ÿ™

Hey Rob and Mostafa, Congratulations on launching Indiedex! It's amazing to see a platform that simplifies the way indie hackers and creators connect. The automated curation sounds like a game-changer for networking without the endless scrolling. I'm curious, how do you ensure the quality of connections on Indiedex? Wishing you both the best on this exciting journey! Thank you for sharing your project with us.
Rob Hallam
@alex_dulub Hey Alex, firstly thank you so much for your support and brilliant question ๐Ÿ™ So many platforms are opt-in now, or lists are out of date. Our automatic curation helps address both of these pain points. In order to ensure the quality of connections, we currently manually verify each profile. If the user is legitimate, and has a history of being active on socials without poor behaviour, we approve them. That process might itself be automated in the future should we scale, but for now it works! Just like having moderation ๐Ÿ˜ Hope that answers your question โ˜บ๏ธ
