Hi all! I'm Mark Hendrickson, Product Lead at Hiro and excited to share the official release of Hiro Wallet for Stacks.
The Stacks blockchain (https://stacks.co/) is a powerful decentralized network with an innovative Proof-of-Transfer consensus mechanism that unlocks some truly novel crypto functionality with Bitcoin.
We're seeing a thriving decentralized app (Dapp), DeFi, and NFT ecosystem begin to take shape, with developers building the future of Web 3 on software that extends the security of Bitcoin.
This browser extension developed by Hiro is your portal to the decentralized future. Simply install and you'll be on your way to taking power back from centralized institutions (e.g. financial, big tech)!
Users of the extension are able to do the following:
- Authenticate with apps that have integrated Hiro's JavaScript SDK, Stacks.js
- Receive and send STX and other tokens, both fungible and non-fungible (NFTs)
- View their asset balances
- View their recent activity / transactions
- Execute contracts written in Clarity and deployed to the network via transaction signing
- View their Secret Key for backup
- Add and change accounts / Stacks addresses
- View usernames registered per account
- Protect their session usage with a password
- Change networks for development and testing
So far over 5,000 users have installed the web extension across both browsers and given it a 5-star rating.
Given that the Hiro Wallet has received a thorough security audit by Least Authority and been battle tested over the past several months throughout early app launches, we’re confident in recommending it for additional app integrations and general usage.
See https://app.co for a look at apps that have already launched integrations with the extension or are planning to do so shortly.

Been using the Hiro Wallet for a while now! Bought a BTC.US name, browsed Stacks Punks, minted my own NFT by going through a tutorial in the Stacks docs. Compared to Metamask, another widely used Web3 wallet, it's much more minimal and straightforward. Love how it displays my assets, NFTs, and recent activity. Looking forward to the Stacks Accelerator projects to launch so I have more dapps to play with!
I've been using Hiro's Stacks wallet for a bit and it's super quick. I also love that when I got my own .btc name it automatically updated my Account name to match the .btc I purchased. (Only for 1 account, not both).
Def recommend if you're looking at projects like CityCoins. Congrats on the Product Hunt launch @markymark!

I am so bullish on Stacks, and have eagerly followed this wallet project because it really makes it possible to create all kinds of apps - and allows end users to buy NFTs, trade coin, and overall manage their $STX. I love that they kept it simple and usable, using it is just seamless and intuitive. I have used it to register my .btc name, and log into a myriad of other dapps. I should add that
I work in product, so I tend to have pretty strong opinions about the ones that I use. Very excited to see what comes of all this. Well done @markymark and team!
