Hello Product Hunt Community! 👋 I am thrilled to introduce Hability, an app built specifically for desk workers to stay active and pain-free throughout the workday. 🚶‍♂️💻 As a physiotherapist (aka physical therapist), I grew tired of hearing so many patients complain about neck and lower back pain caused by prolonged sitting and inactivity at work. In theory, the solution to this problem is simple, move more, sit less! However, in reality, this is not so easy to achieve. Work demands meant that workers often faced the same barriers preventing them from achieving this- they forget, they don't have time, or they don't know what exercises to do. That's why we created Hability—to provide a simple solution that helps people overcome these barriers, and to move more during the day, right from their desks. Hability sends timely reminders for short, effective exercises designed by expert physiotherapists, specifically targeting the muscles and joints most affected by desk work. Whether you’re in the middle of a meeting or engrossed in your tasks, these guided exercises help combat the effects of sedentary behavior, reduce pain, and improve overall posture and wellness. Hability is totally customizable to suit your schedule, your needs and your workspace. You can also track your engagement and progress in the analytics section! We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback! Your support and suggestions mean everything as we continue improving Hability to help more desk workers live healthier, pain-free lives. 💪😊 Thank you for checking us out, and we hope you stay healthy and active with Hability!

Ergonomic chairs are just the start! Wellness goes beyond seating and with Hability, employees can get regular prompts to stay active, helping to reduce neck and back pain while enhancing overall well-being and productivity. @mark_chawke1 kudos to you or coming up this wellness app!

@mark_chawke1 @hamna_malik Thank you for the support Hamna! Yes, Hability aims to combat both sedentary behavior and physical inactivity, which although are very closely linked, are two different things! Be sure to give Hability a try and incorporate it into your workday!

Thanks for clarifying, @mark_chawke! I love that Hability focuses on both aspects of wellness. Will try for sure to incorporate Hability in my routine!

Pretty interesting at least to try to learn some god habits. Particularly now as flexible office setups become more common. Btw, how does Hability adapt to various work environments? so If I go to office 3/week I may want to set it up and see diff suggestions.
Mark Chawke
@jalcantarab Thank you for the support Jorge, please do check out Hability and see how it can help you! To answer your question, all user preferences are customizable and editable at any point. So if you prefer to have chair based only exercises on your office days, you can edit your selections at that time. It is not a feature in the current version, but we do have plan to integrate an easier way to do this such as a button to toggle between work/home environment, which would have separate pre set preferences. Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you @mark_chawke for taking the time to answer! Adding that these hybrid workers could be some of the best paid as well, possibly a good ICP with disposable income to monetize ;)

Congrats on the launch! 🚀 This sounds like a wonderful solution for desk workers! It’s great to see a focus on health and wellness in the workplace. :) What features are you most excited about in the app, and how do you envision this helping users build healthier habits over time?
Mark Chawke
@winston_appsallset Thank you for the support Winston! As a physiotherapist, I see desk workers on a daily basis who sit for far too long complaining of neck and lower back pain. These people most often understand they sit too long, and have great intentions of moving more, but usually lack in consistency. I look forward to helping these individuals build greater consistency and compliance with moving more regularly throughout the day. I also think for a lot of individuals who do not exercise- helping them incorporate even just a little bit of strengthening will be extremely beneficial! Thanks for the input, please do give Hability a try, we would love to hear what you think!

@mark_chawke Absolutely! It’s tough to stay consistent with movement during a busy workday. I’m looking forward to trying Hability and seeing how this can help me build better habits! :)

Hey @mark_chawke! This sounds like a fantastic initiative, especially for those of us who are glued to our desks. I'm curious, what specific exercises are included in the app? Also, how do you plan to encourage consistent user engagement? Is there any gamification involved to make it more fun? Looking forward to seeing Hability take off on PH!
