Thanks for #1 - here's what's next
Hey everyone - weβre tremendously grateful for our fantastic launch yesterday, ending at #1 for the day. Thank you all for your support!
I started Tonkotsu because I saw a huge opportunity for a complete rethink of AI coding β not just incremental adjustments to established tools and workflows. Having managed teams of hundreds of engineers at Meta, Microsoft, and Atlassian, itβs been fascinating to me to find that the role of the developer has shifted overnight: you're now the manager of a team of agents. We're building Tonkotsu to help you succeed in that new role.
Weβre a small team of four (3 engineers and a designer) and seeing the comments and response from our launch has been hugely energizing. Next week: we're focused on UI refinements and moving fast on feedback from our user community.
We'd love to hear from you:
π What are you building as your first project on Tonkotsu?
π What are your first reactions?
π Any friction we can help with?
Thanks once again for all your support!

Tempted to build an agentic coding harness. dw it won't be a competitor to yours lol. Just a hyper niche, hyper focused CLI harness that is tailored to my taste and ultimate flow.
As for something more practical or easier to launch... I think I should make a microsaas from something I'm a domain expert in. This will push Tonkotsu in a realistic way.
So far I like the UI, some things are not obvious but that's because it's not a workflow I've seen elsewhere

@build_with_ajΒ thanks for the thoughts! Regarding things that are not obvious, can you share an example or two? We're eager to sand down the rough edges.
Let us know what you find once you settle on your first project! Excited to see the results.

Super cool! Just installed, gonna check this out :).
Any backstory on the name though? I love eating tonkotsu ramen but really curious why you decided to name your company this. θ±ιͺ¨γ©γΌγ‘γ³γγγγγγ§γγπ

@dougliΒ thanks Douglas! Would love to hear your first impressions and what your first project with Tonkotsu is.
TBH, the name is because we also love ramen and Tonkotsu is my favorite :). Aside from that, we wanted a fun, accessible brand. Dev tools can be a little staid...
