🚀 How to build momentum after Launch
Hey there, as you know I launched Rolyai almost 2 weeks ago. And maybe you read my article about the first 3 days. It actually popped off quite well, so thank you for reading ❤️
This Article will cover how to keep your momentum after launch as well as just getting some momentum rolling.
I worked on this project every single day (even weekends) and through that have made some new learnings and discoveries that I want to share with you guys about how to make substantial progress.
👉 Chapter 1: The Problem of not progressing
After launch, my goal was to get as much new people to try Rolyai as I possibly could. To do that I did the following:
I created 2 Twitter posts everyday
I commented on 10+ Tweets of other people everyday
I created a PH post every few days
I answered all comments on my PH Posts
I planned new content
If some time was left I worked on a YT-Short video
Sounds good?
Not really.
Even though I was doing all these things, they left me with no time to spare to improve the app.
To tell a little bit of a story on what happend:
I created tweets that almost no people saw. Then I got marked as suspicious on Twitter for no reason so even less people saw my posts. Wanted to contact support but it’s literally unreachable.
Each tweet took me around 2 hours to make since I couldn’t think of any content to make and gathering the content itself was a long process.
I basically invested time and effort into something where no on even had a chance to see it
PH posts took me even longer (8 hours). Also basically no result.

(I thought having 95 Product Followers and 35 Profile Followers would give a bigger response tbh.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not here to cry about it but just to give you a feeling of how I felt at that time.)
About YT-Shots, they also took me wayyy to long to make and I just had a hard time figuring out what to say and how to portrait it in a video that catches people immediately. In that whole week I barely finished one short.
It was too overwhelming with no end in sight. My mind was all over the place and this made things even more confusing and unrewarding.
I was chasing post after post every day with no noticeable change. (Like a dog chasing it’s own tail)
This also left me with no time left to improve Rolyai directly.
👉 Chapter 2: The enlightenment
At the end of the Week. It was a Saturday. I stumbled across a YouTube video.
It was a V-Tuber talking about how she posted one video everyday for 3 months. It was no ordinary “join my group”, “Follow these 5 Steps” or any sort of that video. It was just a woman talking about how it went for her and her results and how she did it.
🔑 The key essence was that:
she took each Sunday without any distraction and only produced videos at this day. Since she had to work for the rest of the week, she finished all videos for each day at Sunday and scheduled them.
This forces you to sit down and finish all videos. She also talked about that sometimes it’s not that important to put out the most high quality video you could produce. People also sometimes enjoy more simple things. So don’t stress about it too much. Your first videos will be shitty and that’s a fact. But if you continue creating stuff then you will eventually get better and faster at it. That was something she also experience within those 3 months.
I can recommend watching it if you also want to post any form of content and get some insights on how not everything has to be perfect: https://youtu.be/cNBK3ABwpXA?si=JZVh7b2xjGXxEhXa
This got me thinking and brought the Pottery class parable to my head.
This is an awesome example that motivates me to keep going and put out more even if it’s not great.
The experiment went like the following:
There was a pottery class. They divided it in two groups.
One group had to make as much Pots as they can and were judged by the sheer quantity.
The other group had to make one perfect Pot and was judged by the quality of it.
At the end of the quarter the group that was measured by the sheer volume of pots, not only had more Pots, but also the quality of ALL the pots were better compared to the one Pot from the Perfect Pot group.
Here a nice video of Alex Hormozi explaining it (really motivating): https://www.youtube.com/shorts/lhoRNEdu7Dw
👉 Chapter 3: New System and Mindset
Following this enlightenment I changed my whole work plan.
Before this I planned my days with blocks of what to do when. So:
1h Twitter post
1h Twitter post
1h PH Post
1h YT-Shorts post
etc.
Now I assign each day one specific big task/goal that I want to get done. I take the whole day to dedicated this task. it does not matter to finish early. The only important thing is to finish the task at all.
As an example I create and schedule 7 YT-Shorts on Sunday no matter what.
And on Monday I also create and schedule 7 Tweets no matter what.
My goal right now it focusing on sheer volume. This does not mean that I will put out trash content. This just means, I give my best at getting out as much of good content as I can. But if sometimes there is not enough time or I take too long, then I will just try to get it done.
So leaving perfectionism on the side to some degree and trying to improve even if what I make is bad at first.
💡 As a quick tipp, how you can implement this in your Calendar:
Write the big task you want to do at this day over the whole day or in the free spaces that you have available. This way, when you look at your Calendar you directly see whats up and know what to do.
Here an example (Orange one is the task for the day):

👉 Chapter 4: The Result
I successfully created and scheduled all 7 YT-Shorts posts on Sunday. Additionally I created and scheduled all 7 Tweets on Monday.
This freed up my schedule by an insane amount of time. I don’t have to worry all week about posting and keeping Rolyai in people vision. I am at peace of mind since all posts go live automatically at each day.
This enabled me to work on Rolyai directly again. So far I already implemented Social proof into my login page ad well as logging users in instantly after signup. And I gave the role select button on the chat page more visibility since new users didn’t really get how to use Rolyai.
My productivity and mental in general is way better after this change since I now again feel like I get things done and see some progress.
📱 And what about the results on social media?
I got you covered.
So far I have:
1.179 Views on YT-Shorts
On Twitter I actually get some engagement and likes now (around 6 Likes)
I gained 2 followers on Twitter
The Twitter change is most likely because I now can just post whatever I feel like. (All posts are scheduled anyways so no pressure)
And through posting and commenting everyday I learned how Twitter functions just like that I should be more me and authentic there.
Here my actual Calendar this week:

👉 Final Words
As you can see this change instantly built up some momentum for me.
The ball is rolling on social media as well as in development. ⚽
Each weekend I just have to hit the social media ball and during the week I have to hit the development ball and if I feel like it also the social media ball.
I will continue with this for as long as I can. We’ll see the results. 🔥
💡 Enough about me. Some tips for you:
What I described is how it worked for me. if you want to implement it in your schedule feel free to do so. Keep in mind that this system is not fixed. it is NOT limited to doing social media posts!
Maybe you’ve got your own thing that you have to do daily, that distracts you or just takes away lots of time. If so, try doing everything for one week on one single day. No other task, no distraction.
Try it out → see how it works for you → adjust → try your new system → rinse and repeat
Good luck!

Thanks for sharing, David! Your journey and mindset shift are really cool. I'm curious, how do you find inspiration for your content creation? Also, how do you balance the pressure of social media? 🙌

@david442 It's true that doing what you find interesting is the key to staying motivated. The points in the two videos really opened my eyes, especially the idea of needing to "read, watch, and listen" to fill our brains with diverse knowledge.😄
Indeed, having enough input is essential for good output!
Regarding social media pressure, I meant that, aside from the fear of not being noticed, I noticed you manage several different platforms at the same time. Do you sometimes feel it's challenging to balance and manage all these platforms?
rolyai
@peilan_qin No at the moment not since I have time.
If I were to add Instagram and Tiktok then it would be overwhelming and just too much.
Generally limiting yourself to a few one is key in my opinion.
I do YouTube shorts because I like the Platform and already have some experience there and it's really possible to get some attention there.
I do PH because it's the form channel where I write long texts.
And Twitter because I like the raw communication format.
Btw, awesome that you took the time to actually watch the videos I recommended :D

@david442 Oh, I get it—keeping it to a few platforms really helps. Glad to hear you’re enjoying YouTube Shorts! Thanks for the tips, I’ll keep exploring! 😎
Thanks for sharing such a detailed journey, it’s motivating to see how small adjustments in workflow and mindset can make such a huge difference. Keep rolling that momentum!

I love the change in scheduling your days! I struggle to finish tasks when I have competing priorities on the same day. I'll try to implement what you did here, thank you for sharing!
rolyai
@audrey_platta I really love to hear that :D
Seems like a really similar problem. I wish you good luck on that.
It would be interesting to hear how it went for you.

Really great read, @david442 !
Batch-creating content and scheduling your “big tasks” not only frees up your week, but it seriously cuts down the stress. Definitely trying this out!
@david442 Thanks for sharing! Super helpful tips. I have alway been one for "Learn Fast, Fail Fast". Too many founders hang on to a process or approach way to long. If you haven't hit the goal by the end date it's time to move on. Congrats on the launch!

@jason_gelsomino Your welcome :D
So cool to hear that it was helpful. I'm also currently doing "learn Fast, Fail Fast" approach. It's just like volume negates luck. And thank you ❤️

The calendar screenshot idea is super practical. Sometimes the smallest workflow tweaks unlock the biggest momentum.

@abod_rehman Yep that's 100% true
@david442 Really appreciate you sharing this! Your post enlightened me and helped me shift my mindset, thank you for that
