Who are the most active people on Product Hunt?

Many people were looking for an answer in one category, namely, Forums → Streaks.

This metric by itself only tells you that people log in to the app.

Isn't that enough?

For maintaining the streak ranking, yes.

But in my opinion, the most active people do more than just maintain a streak.

They appear in discussions, comment and launch products.

Activity > Login

If I were going to launch a product and wanted to reach backers, I would prioritise active people over those who "just" log in to the app.

For me, active people are familiar faces that I've seen here for a long time (at the moment), e.g.:

To name a few.

Of course, in your notifications, different faces are.

What metric do you use to measure activity on this platform?

Nika, thank you for mentioning me in this list — it was unexpected!

Honestly, in my eyes you are the most active user on Product Hunt. And thank you so much for your activity in the comments under the threads I created — it really means a lot to me. 🤗

Nika

@gostroverhov Thank you so much for your kind words. To be honest, I am active only in one part of this platform (Forums). I would wish to be active on the part of launches, but honestly, I wouldn't sleep in that case :DD

Boris Gostroverhov

@busmark_w_nika I understand you, that’s exactly how it is! 😄

Nika

@gostroverhov Forums are enough :D hunting not for now :D

Wow, thank you for the recognition and for being included in a list with such incredible names. It’s truly a great honor.

It definitely takes discipline to be on the platform every single day. Maintaining a streak is not easy at all. Everyone has days when they’re traveling, overwhelmed with work, or just want to be completely offline. So for me, anyone with a streak of over 100 days has achieved something truly impressive.

If I had to single out which activity is the most valuable, I’d immediately say the people who give real feedback on your product. After all, this is a place where we discover new products. And what could be better, when you launch, than seeing a comment from a user who actually took the time to visit your website and test the product. Rather than just generating some random reply (or even worse, an AI-generated one). Those kinds of interactions are invaluable to me.

Of course, participating in discussions also adds a lot of value, especially if you’re new to the platform and trying to find your way around. Your own threads (where you give advice or spark interesting discussions) are a real gem.

As for how to achieve a longer streak, my advice would be: in addition to having access to a computer or laptop, make sure you also have the app on your phone. There have been days when I didn’t open the web version at all, and only my phone saved me and helped me keep the streak going for one more day. So that’s a really good option if you want to maintain an activity streak.

Nika

@byalexai Your piece of advice or point of view is always valuable in discussions.

And that's why you are asked to participate in interviews. I dare to publish the one you sent me, because I was listening to it and it is brilliant! :D :)

Guys, watch it!

Hey Nika, thank you for the shoutout, that’s really kind of you. :)

I truly appreciate the effort you put into posting regular updates on the forum. I’ve been following all the super active PH users' activity closely for a long time.

A few activities to keep your PH profile active:

  • Read PH newsletters

  • Login daily (browse PH app daily)

  • Launch / hunt products you find interesting

  • Follow interesting forum posters, makers and hunters

  • Skim through forum posts and participate in the discussions

  • Check out Orbit awards and test / nominate / review products

  • Upvote and / or comment on a couple launches you like on the leaderboard

Make your streak count driven by habit

My streak is actually driven by habit. Instead of opening Facebook, Instagram or Twitter in the morning, I open Product Hunt app and explore what’s new... things I can test, try or give feedback on. If something stands out, I share detailed feedback. If not, I still try to engage by congratulating makers, asking thoughtful questions or pointing out small improvements in positioning or messaging.

One thing I often notice is that while founders update their main websites, they sometimes forget to update their Chrome extensions, App Store or Play Store listings. Those inconsistencies matter, so I often point them out. In a way, I do what Curious Kitty is doing, but with a bit more focus on these small, overlooked details.

Product Hunt helps you understand what’s new and trending in SaaS and AI.

When you visit the app daily, you start seeing clear patterns... when GPT emerged, writing tools exploded; then came video, image, voice and speech tools. Product Hunt really feels like the front line of the tech and AI ecosystem.

More than products, it’s the relationships that make this community special.

I’ve met some incredible people here, my product hunt best friend is getting married and I’ll be flying to attend their wedding soon. That still feels surreal.

I’ve always believed in community. I started blogging at 16 and used to leave comments longer than the actual posts. xD Over time, when you consistently add value, people start recognising you and sometimes even associate the platform with your presence.

That’s also why I enjoy commenting more than posting. I’m a long-time Reddit user and a mod of r/GrowthHacking, and I love discussion-driven communities. I always wanted Product Hunt to feel more like that, which is why I enjoy the forums so much. I do try to post occasionally, but conversations in comments are where I feel most at home.

So, Nika, thank you for creating and initiating these meaningful discussions, they give people like me space to contribute. And honestly, you should be number one on that list.

Lastly, if anyone here ever needs support, feedback or even help hunting a product, feel free to reach out (@rohanrecommends). I’m always happy to help.

Thank you again and thanks to everyone who quietly makes this community better every day. 🙌

Nika

@rohanrecommends Thank you, Rohan, it is kind to be supported by so recognisable faces.

"Over time, when you consistently add value, people start recognising you and sometimes even associate the platform with your presence." – This is what makes people outstanding. When you are adding value, you are becoming a top voice of the platform.

Regarding managing communities, you are doing really great, and it is noticeable that you have a huge amount of experience. The quality is present here. :)

Alina Petrova

Very useful, thank you!

Activity is a far more meaningful metric than follower count or steak ranking. It reflects the quality of connection with the community and the real value being exchanged.

Nika

@alina_petrova3 Definitely, you need to create a mutual conversation. No, that one is talking to the void. You remember people when you interact with them. It is like a footprint! :)

raj patil

Definitely not me

Nika

@raj_patil16 It is time to change that :)

Mark Lemuel M

some of these guys are followed a long time ago! they are really active here!

Nika

@kilopolki Imagine how time-demanding this can be! :D

Mark Lemuel M

@busmark_w_nika it's true. you need to study n8n so you can automate some of it! if not all! its free to use.. not easy to learn but no code automation platform!

AJ

I keep track of the people that are launching and then replying in threads. It feels nice to be active here!

The 'metric' for me if you could call it that is subjective and basically "who do I run into?"

Nika

@build_with_aj I can feel how you are actively there active and it makes a difference. In the streak leaderboard, there are many people at the top, but I know barely anything about them. You are showing up daily in comments and have already created some awareness about yourself.

fmerian
thanks for the mention! 🙏
Nika

@fmerian You are welcome. You earned it through your contributions :)

Zac Zuo

Thanks for the shoutout, Nika! Honored to be on the list.

Speaking of streaks, mine actually snapped late last year during a family vacation. I totally forgot to log in for a day lol. But I agree, everyone who sticks around here definitely has their own "why"—whether it's launching, hanging out in discussions, discovering new cool stuff, or learning from other makers.

The key is just finding what you love here :)

Nika

@zaczuo To be honest, I didn't notice that you weren't here for a day. You are constantly launching something, so it is difficult to overlook you! :D :)

Maria Anosova 🔥

I completely agree.

You may have been registered many years ago, but that doesn't make you an active part of the community.

It's a different story if you are involved in ProductHunt, genuinely interested in the projects launched on this platform, can contribute to discussions on the forum, and share feedback on products.

Nika

@maria_anosova I think that most recognisable are those who comment on products, launch products and are in the Forums. These 3 matter the most.
