We Reached Top 200 in 20+ Countries. What Would You Do Next to Grow This App?

Dear All,

I am a solo developer behind NotiSprite, and I have been working on it for about 3 months.

So far, the app has reached Top 200 in its category in more than 20 countries from Mac App Store (AppFigures), which I am genuinely grateful for. At the same time, I would love to grow it further so it can sustainably support my family.

On the marketing side, I have already tried:

  • Launching on Product Hunt

  • Posting in relevant Reddit communities

  • Consistently sharing updates on social media

To increase App Store impressions and reach, I have:

  • Introduced a free sprite (Noti Peach) with full notification features

  • Expanded the app to iOS and iPadOS to reach more desktop pet lovers

  • Been finishing NotiSprite Studio, a tool that lets creators and artists build and share their own sprites, with the hope that a creator ecosystem can drive organic growth

Recently, I feel a bit stuck on what to focus on next. Longer term, I hope to collaborate with animation IP companies to bring licensed characters into the app.

I would really appreciate advice from experienced makers here, especially around:

Growth

  • What would you focus on next once early traction is proven?

  • What has actually moved the needle for you after the initial launch phase?

Pricing

  • Each sprite is currently priced very low (less than a cup of coffee)

  • Do bundle unlocks usually work better for this kind of product?

  • Is a subscription model a bad idea for a lightweight, fun app like this?

  • How do you think about subscription pricing, and what downsides should I be aware of?

I have asked these questions to AI many times, but I genuinely want to hear from real people who have been this journey.

Thank you for reading, and I really appreciate any insights you are willing to share.

Regards,

Brian

hey there! I'm sorry that I'm not an actual experienced maker, and can't share any insightful ideas, but I just wanted to let you know that your app seems so fun and comfortable! Sprite is such a great way to keep your motivation and not get lost in the workflows! please keep on going, I think your app is a savior for someone

at one of the projects I've been working on we've bought paid integrations from bloggers on inst/tiktok. it actually never was too expensive, you may find great options with available prices, that can give you 50-100k views each. that's all of the advice I can actually share :)

@yellow_yetti Thank you so much for the kind words. That really means a lot, especially hearing that it could be genuinely helpful to someone.

Influencer marketing is actually a great idea. I have not seriously explored Instagram or TikTok creators yet, so this is a really useful nudge for me. I will definitely add it to my to-do list and experiment with it.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience and encouragement👍
