Starting an app and wanted your feedback
by•
Hey everyone! 👋
I’m working on MicroMint, a social investing app where people can pool money together to invest in tiny amounts to build wealth together.
So many people are looking fir aide hustles and going through hard times because of the economy and I want to make wealth aomething for EVERYONE! Think: friends, family, gym buddies, coworkers — pooling small, consistent contributions.
Before we finalize our beta, I’d love to learn from this community:
— What would make group-based investing feel safe and motivating?
- Is this something you think could interest the general public?
I welcome your thoughts!

Could you give more details on how operationally these investments take place.
@darron_evans great question!
MicroMint is designed to make small, consistent saving/investing with friends, while keeping the mechanics as simple as possible.
Operationally, here’s how it works:
• Users create or join a private Circle with friends/family/signifant others etc based on a shared goal (ex: saving $5/week or whatever is reasonable based on your financial capacity, could be to save up for something fun, or serious like a downpayment for a house, or a vacation next month etc).
• Each member contributes small, scheduled amounts individually — funds are not pooled or co-mingled between users.
• MicroMint provides the structure, tracking, reminders, and social accountability layer (progress visibility, milestones, nudges).
• The actual money movement is handled through regulated third-party financial partners (details finalized as we complete MVP).
In early beta, we’re focused on validating:
• How accountability with friends/family/significant others based on goal impacts consistency
• What contribution timefames feel realistic
• What types of goals sound most relatable
We’re purposely starting simple and compliant, then expanding functionality as we learn from users.
Open to any and all feedback, thank you
@kristalombardi I’m really interested in what your building here. Are you in the Silicon Valley? Also what class is the investment vehicle?
@darron_evans Thanks that's so exciting! I’m based in San Diego.
We’re currently pre-MVP / early beta, starting with goal-based saving and accountability with friends, by next week we should be finished setting it up with options to choose ETFs, REITS, etc together. Options are also to put the investment into their savings account, Fidelity account, or high yield savings account, whatever the consumer's preference is. Let me know if that is clear and any questions I can answer.
@kristalombardi that is so cool, and congratulations on building your mvp. Is there a monthly cost associated with with the app? Sorry if I have so many questions I’m just really interested is there possibly a chance we can connect via email. I’m curious on the process of building your MVP the business operations behind the scenes.
