by•
Bluesky is implementing comprehensive updates to its policies and community guidelines, driven by global regulations and user feedback, with a focus on improving user safety, clarity, and community standards.
Key Takeaways
New guidelines organized around four principles: Safety First, Respect Others, Be Authentic, and Follow the Rules
Introduces an informal dispute resolution process, allowing direct phone conversations to resolve user conflicts
Addresses previous moderation challenges by providing more detailed policies on content moderation, hate speech, and user conduct
Curious if Product Hunt could learn anything from their principles... 🤔

I've proposed to @rajiv_ayyangar to adopt ActivityPub or ATProto on several occasions. It could do wonders for audience development and distribution, as @Ghost has demonstrated.
Alas.
@rajiv_ayyangar @chrismessina I think you're right because pretty exceptional nerds use those so it wouldn't over clutter the community. What I wonder in a highly vertical network is as you go broad what does it do to keeping the interests of your super hardcore users that bring the majorty of quality content and value. The mastadon-like community would help bring in the folks who aren't hitting 1,000 day streaks in PH but might like to participate more. Forums have wrestling with today's biggest tech debates for makers could live in PH. I struggle to post more. I probably could write something better than a lot of the content today but I don't know how often I could actually write something that you or my closest friends would glean value out of. I'd be super happy to feel that the content is so good I never could post!
