I'm Justin, a solo designer/dev from Germany, and I'm building BestFonts.co – a faster, cleaner alternative to the official Google Fonts library.
The problem I had: Google's tool is not ideal for professional use – Lots of great fonts go missing in the deep of hundreds of okay-ish fonts, no custom color preview, no live preview of variable fonts and exporting (especially webfonts) takes some time...
So I thought what if there was a fre font library with only top fonts, easy professional preview, fast export for all formats/use-cases and even optimized for modern tools, like AI IDEs, etc...
This is how I ended up building BestFonts.co – I'm already pretty happy with the result, but I have even more features in mind that help making the lives of designers easier.
