Beyond real-time chat with threads and notifications, users can create sessions within channels, including: Collaborative notes: Like Google Keep but with the option to add voice notes that are automatically transcribed. Mind maps: For visualizing ideas or planning projects. Task canvas: Similar to Trello but built right into your channels, so you can assign tasks without leaving your workflow. Remote has been on the rise for years, but Covid has forced all companies to adjust to it over the past few months. I'm curious to know: 1. What tools are indispensable for your team to get work done? Which do you love the most and why? 2. What tools/rituals help your team still feel a sense of togetherness / build culture? 3. What are the biggest missing pieces to your remote team toolkit, or things that cause the biggest pain points? I'm compiling all the results and will share that publicly (and on PH of course). I noticed that most of the new and upcoming design/creative apps come with real-time collab editing as a key feature, and they even base their promo and monetization around such a feature. Most of them don't benefit from having real-time collab editing, and I'm starting to wonder if they lack vision. What works: Modular collab, John creates the background while Jane creates the characters. What doesn't work: John and Jane work on the background and then on the characters at the same time. The "I will draw the eyes, you will draw the ears, and Joe will rotate, shade, or do whatever" just doesn't work. In my opinion, some creative processes must be individual.
