Why is business data still so hard to act on in 2025?

We've all been there drowning in dashboards, buried in Notion docs, pinged in Slack threads, and still no clarity. As someone who's spent years working in ops and product, I'm constantly surprised at how hard it is to get a clean, real-time picture of what's actually going on in the business.

Why do we still need 4 tools and 5 people to answer simple questions like What s driving churn? or Are we hitting our sales targets?

Curious how others are thinking about this. If you're an operator, PM, or founder how are you solving this internally? Have you found workarounds or is it still duct tape + gut feeling?

Which product analytic tools do you recommend to track user behavior?

As per free tools, I recommend Posthog - Mixpanel. Both of these provide insights into your product usage and user behavior to help you make data-driven decisions and improve your products. Posthog is targeted to roles closer to web development or software related backround. Mixpanel is targeted to less technical backrounds Which tool has helped your business track user behavior and why?

What platform do you use to show KPI data?

Hi all, I've just developed a voice application for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant and I would like to track user data from it. This is a trivia game so I would like to know how many matches user has made daily, how many questions have been answered and so on. What online service do you use? I would like to find a service that allows me to send data via API or via an exposed JSON and then I can configure the service's dashboard displaying data. A friend suggested me to combine Elasticsearch with Grafana. What do you use?

What analytics tools are you using?

Hey Product Hunt! I've joined the Amy team recently, and we're launching soon (check us out - https://www.producthunt.com/upco...). As part of this launch, I'm trying to figure out which data analytics tools to use to improve our website, messaging and most importantly, our product. I was thinking of the following analytics stack: 1. Google Analytics for traffic data 2. HotJar / Fullstory for UX/UI and visitor recordings 3. Segment for event tracking and quantitive data Are there any other tools that you've been using and can recommend? Do you think we're missing something? Thanks!
