Package Maintainers Unite! I’m bringing our DX into the 21st century

So I ve been working on a deb package as part of a project I ll be launching here shortly, and I couldn t help but notice how spoiled I ve been by live reloads of the client and server code from my time in web dev. Package maintainers, some of the most foundational parts of our community, are languishing. That s why I took a break to build Boxer, a Claude Code plugin that lets you live-reload and e2e test your packages in a configurable VM during development, with log and testing data pumped back into Claude from the VM to keep you chugging away with no copy/pasting. It s been HUGELY useful for me in the development of my own project(coming soon) and I hope someone on here finds it useful too: https://github.com/araujota/boxer

Classix - The Second Brain optimized for articulation, not capture

Hello PH! Have you ever dog-eared a book, paused a podcast, or stepped away from an article because YOU have something to say? For too long, these opportunities to crystallize our thoughts have had nowhere to land, and social media comments have been a notoriously poor container for this behavior. Most "second brain" platforms optimize for capture, turning these ephemeral moments into a graveyard of bookmarks and notes. Classix is where those moments go to live, through conversation.

Classix is a “second brain” that doesn’t summarize or warehouse your thinking

Most AI second brains turn into bookmark graveyards or summary engines. They replace the content instead of returning you to it with clearer eyes. Classix is built around a different moment: when you ve dog-eared a book, paused a podcast, or stepped away from an article because YOU have something to say, and the window to crystallize a thought is closing fast. Instead of summarizing, it asks, probes, and reflects, so your ideas don t evaporate. Question for the community: does this pain point resonate with you as well, and if so, what non- summarizing features would actually help you think in that moment? Launching soon. https://classix.app

Learning to Ship Small

I m working on v1 of blog ingestion via RSS for https://classix.app. I m very excited for this, but as a solo dev with a full time job, even with AI on my side, my vision often outstrips my bandwidth. Here s what I m shipping in v1 and what I m delaying: V1: - ingest blogs via RSS feeds by pasting a URL and use articles or entire blogs as part of your knowledge base for discussions - get updates whenever a new article in a blog you ve indexed is available for discussion - toggle the inclusion of specific articles in blog-based discussions - email blog authors when a user indexes their blog to let them know their work is being discussed and encourage cross-promotion V2: - let authors claim their blogs and partake in revenue share with the platform - advanced in-chat citations that hyperlink back to the source article Would love to hear your thoughts on how you decide what to ship now and what to delay, and how you balance bandwidth against the need to ship things with real value.

I was reading/listening more than ever, but taking less and less away from it. Then I built Classix.

Discovery is solved. Consumption is solved. Integration is not. There s no real space for the moment where you dog-ear a page, pause a podcast, or feel the urge to say something about what you just encountered. That moment usually just evaporates. Classix is built to capture it. Classix is a platform for personal and collective reflection after consumption; a place to articulate, revisit, and build meaning around what you read or listen to, with customizable AI companions that facilitate the process. Right now, you can: Create a Reading from any public-domain text or your own uploads and have text-grounded discussions (text or voice) about it Revisit those conversations later as distilled threads, building on principles of Active Recall Create private or public Streams grounded in a small canon of texts, invite friends, and discuss them in a shared space with an AI agent that can track insights across the corpus Clip text or sharable content from anywhere on your phone via a ShareSheet extension and attach it(with annotations) to a Reading or Stream Use different AI personalities for different kinds of material Organize excerpts into Boards that function as small, theme-based knowledge bases For me and early users, this has been a behavior-altering product not because it helps you consume more, but because it finally gives shape to what would otherwise be lost. I m not formally launching yet. I m here because I want to pressure-test the idea: Do you feel this gap between consuming and integrating? What do you currently do when something you read or hear actually lands, and there s nowhere to put it? Would genuinely love feedback, skepticism, or questions. https://classix.app

If a problem can be solved without AI, does AI actually make it better?

I recently had an interesting conversation with an investor. I was explaining a very concrete technical problem and the solution behind it. At some point he asked: Won t AI solve this in a few years? If so, doesn t that make your solution irrelevant? That question stuck with me because my instinctive reaction was: why would that make it irrelevant?

If a problem can be solved without AI, that solution is always:

  • faster

  • cheaper - or zero cost

  • deterministic

  • easier to reason about

  • easier to trust

Founders, which hat are you wearing today? 🧢

First day back with my co-founder Charlie, and we showed up ready to build!
Feels a bit like the first day back at school: excited, a little nervous, ready to dive in .

Hi all! What are you reading/listening to lately?

New member here, solo dev in Chicago, got an early product that I m ITCHING to launch to you all. I m also here to chat and connect about novel AI systems and cool experiences I might not even know I want yet. My product hinges a lot on reading/listening, so I d love to know what you all have been consuming lately that you can t put down and leaves your mind racing.

⚡ 10 New Problems to Build a Startup

1. Startup founders get lost in legal, accounting, and administrative tasks after incorporation, leading to stress and risks due to the lack of a clear, step-by-step plan.

2. The owner of a relaunched bar on the French coast cannot attract an audience in the evening due to the legacy of its past format (nightclub) and its isolated location.

OpenAI is considering buying Pinterest. Do you see this acquisition as promising?

Today, I read in the news that OpenAI is considering "expanding its data footprint" and possibly buying Pinterest, as there is a lot of data on it just for the sake of users finding inspiration (which can be key for purchase decision making and understanding personas Pinterest has 600M+ users).

I also take into account how Pinterest started to resent the proliferation of AI content there users do not like it so much (as far as I know, OpenAI also wants to have its own social network, and Sora curation is a bit reminiscent of that)
