I've just altered the Projects screen so that you can have more than one at a time. initially I created intentional friction so that you had to close a project to oppen another. The reasoning was to allow people to focus (people wouldn't revamp their fishtank while doing emergency preparedness while winterizing their home, etc.) But since there is now a certain sector interested in CheckMarkâ„¢...

Creativity & Logistics: Author, Builder, Martini Enjoyer.
Hi. I'm Mark Bradford. After running a tech consulting business for a couple decades a life-changing event put me on the path to figure out what life is made of and what we spend our time, energy, and resources on. That led to starting a coaching business, publishing my 10th book last year, and completing the 300th podcast episode last year as well. I love the intersection of my logistics and...

Well that was exhilarating. Why reach #3, or even #1 when you can reach #201 on launch day. A bigger number is better, right? 🤣 I'm very new to Product Hunt so I did the best I could to launch this. I do hope it reaches more people because it's one of those things that people absolutely love and are addicted to (me included) but getting it in front of people is apparently a challenge. I was...

Hi everyone. One of my side quests has been to find the perfect to-do list. In the olden days, I had a planner that I quite enjoyed. But currently there really wasn’t any way to record and track tasks in a simple way. So all I wanted was a to do list that was on my screen and on my phone. I didn’t want any fancy features and I’ve learned quite a bit about the psychology of getting things done...

CheckMark was designed selfishly for personal use. There's nothing to install but it acts like an ap on your phone.
It has a gold system, badges, awards and milestones to keep you engaged.
You can color code, swipe left to delete, swipe right to send to the future and even share with a friend for support and validation.
Advanced things like long term goals, regenerating tasks, the project library and the buddy system can all be grown into as you progress, so you won't feel overwhelmed.

You're spot on. It's not just founder, but author blindspot. One of the most difficult things for an author to do is write a proper summary of their book regardless if it is fiction or non-fiction. As a chronic over communicator, I am now aware of that so that has helped a bit. Even if you are excellent at thinking ahead and predicting the needs of users you have to put yourself back into the...

Walking is absolutely amazing. Not only does it activate your parasympathetic nervous system*, but it just does something for thinking and reasoning that nothing else does. When I wrote my trilogy, I had to get up and walk to reason through some fairly complex things. Even in the winter when it was -5 out, I would go for a walk. Structure for one person can be a cage for another person so I'd...

Yes, but it depends on how they frame them. It's actually more important for them to track it themselves vs. publicly posting about it. I did a podcast episode on this in which we delve into how it was just as important if not more important to track your failures vs. successes. The reason being that they can show you what you've been trying to do. And that overnight success that you had? It's...
Do you think founders should talk more openly about projects that didn’t work?

I do tend to favor Google meet as I am in the Google ecosystem with using Gmail, docs, sheets, and even Gemini. Most of my clients are the same as well. I'd be grudgingly installed zoom for those who insist on having Zoom meetings. You touched down an important point when you mentioned video. I feel that both meet and zoom both assume heavily that you want all of your data going through them....
