Trello is a web-based Kanban-style list-making application. Originally made by Fog Creek Software in 2011, it was spun out to form the basis of a separate company in 2014 and later sold to Atlassian in January 2017.
note smooth task import for scheduling. Users love the intuitive boards, collaboration, and templates, though some outgrow it, citing limits for complex workflows, multi‑board visibility, and higher costs beyond the free tier.

I’ve been using Trello for almost 4 years for PM work, project management, and community projects, and the simplicity is still its biggest strength. The visual boards make it easy to keep everything organized, and it adapts well to different types of workflows.
What needs improvement
limited for complex workflows (7)expensive paid version (3)
For bigger or more complex projects, Trello can feel a bit limited. More native features for hierarchy, dependencies, and advanced automation would make it even more powerful.
I’ve used it for years, and it’s consistently reliable for managing projects and staying on track.
Do you need sprint planning or backlog management features?
It really depends on the team size and the complexity of the work. For small teams or community projects, I’ve found that basic boards are enough, you don’t always need full sprint planning or backlog management features. But once the team grows or the project becomes more technical, having proper sprint tools, burndown views, and backlog prioritization definitely makes things smoother and more predictable.
We have been using Trello for some time now and it has helped us a lot transitioning to scrum. We programmers love how features were designed to make our life easier (checklists on cards, visual feedback, ability to interpret a nice subset of markdown features, automation…).
As someone who manages multiple projects, Trello has been a game-changer for me. I love the simplicity of the Kanban system, which makes it easy to visualize the progress of each task and move them between columns as they are completed.
One of the best things about Trello is how customizable it is. I can create boards for each project, add members to each board, and assign tasks to specific team members. I can also set deadlines for tasks and receive notifications when they are due, which helps me stay on track and ensure that everything is completed on time.
Trello has made managing projects so much easier for me. It's user-friendly, visually appealing, and incredibly customizable, which makes it an essential tool for anyone who needs to manage multiple projects at once.
If you love the Kanban board method of work you'll love Trello. I've been using this app since their early days and still treasure its ease-of-use and the great interface design. And the add-ons are just great! It's helped me stay productive even in my darkest hours.
I wanted to choose Google Keep as an answer but it was not in the list. I like trello for Agile management but it's too costly for a team use, so I use Google Keep & Google Sheets for To-do management.
As a Trello user, I can attest to its effectiveness in helping me stay organized and on top of my tasks. I've been using it for a few years now and I've found it to be an indispensable tool for managing my work and collaborations with others. The visual interface, ease of use, and flexibility to customize it to my specific needs have made it a favorite of mine. The ability to collaborate with others on shared boards has also been a game-changer, keeping me updated on the status of projects and ensuring that everyone is on the same page. Overall, I'm a huge fan of Trello and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful yet user-friendly task management solution.

I love how easy Trello makes it to organize my tasks. It's nice to be able to add a due date and checklist to the card as well. I'm also a big fan of the repeater cards- it's nice that it will remind me each time I have to do that task.
Trello is an essential tool for any marketing team looking to improve productivity and streamline collaboration. With Trello, you can easily manage projects, track progress, and assign tasks to team members, all in one centralized platform. I especially love the visual interface and customizable boards, which allow me to easily organize and prioritize my work. Plus, the integration with other tools like Slack and Google Drive makes communication and file sharing seamless. If you're looking to take your marketing game to the next level, give Trello a try!

I have used Trello in the past to organise past projects and it has helped a lot. I would've used it more if some features weren't locked behind a paywall.
I always come back to Trello. The newest shiny tool catches my eye and move some projects over to it as a test but it's never very long.
My projects always come back to a Trello board.
It's where I get work done and move projects over the finish line.
My only wish is for a dashboard to show my projects at a glance but we've built some workarounds for now.
I use Trello for bug tracking & product development in two companies and as a to-to list management tool, personally. Feature rich yet with a clean UI. Easy to use from day 1.
