Initially very impressive, speeds up time to create a new PPT from scratch. As you use it more and more though it starts to lose some of it's luster. The AI capabilities are much better today than they were 3 months ago and I'm sure they'll be much better in 3 more months. Still a decent amount of inaccuracy when it comes to requests thru the AI tool. It's good and getting better but still has a ways to go to be amazing.

vs Alternatives

Canva

I go back and forth between Canva and Gamma. Gamma is better at creating thru AI tool. Canva's AI tool is severely lacking but Canva's templates and libraries are much deeper. It's a coin toss right now between the two. Neither blow my socks off but they are both okay at some standard things that increase productivity

How well does branding import match our style guide?

Not very well. Does not import and implement branding guidelines and logos very well.

Do exported files keep layouts and fonts correctly?

No, they get glitched easily

Gamma is an amazing tool! First, it was really easy to set up my account and start using the app right away. The user interface is beautifully designed and the experience was very pleasant! I loved trying out Gamma for the first time. I find it a great addition to my workflow because it’s so intuitive to use. Making decks now takes less time and doesn’t feel as frustrating!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using Gamma. Huge improvement over the current doc and deck model. Writing a memo is intuitive and frictionless. Themes allow non-designers to build beautiful presentations easily. Present mode gives the presenter tools to navigate content easily while emphasizing what’s important. The Gamma team is super talented and of really high character. Highly recommend this product to anyone that communicates information through written word and in presentations.

Today I used Gamma for the first time on a big presentation covering 20 projects. I loved that I didn’t have to prepare slides and that during the presentation I could go deep or cover things high level depending on the need of the audience. People in the audience noticed they were seeing a new cool tool and a lot of them checked it out after my presentation

I’ve been using Gamma for some weeks now. I love the the tool. It’s made it really for me to create slideshows that can be read easily on mobile. Most of the people I present to are VIPs who are rarely reviewing slides on mobile. I think for me the biggest issue has been formatting text and utilising the text space optimally as Gamma still lacks some of the core functionality that you’ll find in Google Slides or similar (text spacing etc)

I hate ppt and actually had fun using gamma for a nerdy presentation about wine (but I digress…). #plsfix warriors may now worry about job security but I’m excited to finally not have to roll my eyes at formatting and actually focus on how to make an engaging presentation.

Gamma is an interesting option when you want to present something a litttttle less formal than a deck. I have yet to experience its usefulness in a collaborative setting, but from personal use, I find it very easy to use and it has great potential to help people get their stories out of their heads faster — less time formatting and more time building and creating without friction (esp. with the shortcuts).

I use Gamma in my team meetings and share it with the team ahead of time as a pre-read. I found that it helps promote discussion and live collaboration. It's super easy to use and looks nice without needing to put in the effort.

Gamma has made our work syncs more effective and fun! I've had a lot more engagement in our team meetings (both small & big) while doing less work to prepare the content. There are a lot more use cases, but I highly recommend trying Gamma if you're looking to leave a great impression in your next meeting :)
